Meet at the Singing Hills Walmart parking lot
NW corner at 7:30 am
location: Hopefully, to the reopened Snyder Bend Park and Lake.
There, we will see the effects of the summer windstorm that closed the park, as well as, the dewatering of the lake that began in April.
We will hope to find post-breeding dispersed waders (herons, egrets, ibis), southward bound shorebirds and wandering gulls and terns. This local outing will offer a beginning birding segment and will be an excellent time to invite new participants.
Roadside or parking lot opportunities for seeing birds exist, but the main feature will be the 1/3 mile walk to the Gilchrist Viewing Deck where a larger portion of the lake is in view. Accommodations for those with mobility issues may be available by contacting me in advance.
